About TerryTerry Adams has been an insurance agent since 1979 and has owned his insurance agency since 1981. He has been teaching since 1990. He retired from his insurance agency in 2006, and found a new vocation in consulting with insurance agencies, managing general agencies and their insurance companies. He continued teaching. His undergraduate degree is from Southern Oregon State College in Ashland, Oregon with a major in Business Administration in 1971. He received a Masters degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas with a major in Institutional Management in 1978. He received a Blue Ribbon Award for his academic insurance studies at the Aetna Home Office School in Hartford, Connecticut in 1980. He was an instructor at Southern Oregon University from 1990 through 2005 teaching Health, Safety & Risk Management. In 2007 he taught Ethics classes at State insurance conventions. He has been very involved with the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents since 1988. He served on the Oregon board and went through the chairs to become president of Oregon PIA in 1992. He then served on the PIA national board from 1998-2004 and went through the chairs to become president of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents in 2004. He currently serves on the Oregon/Idaho Board of Directors, the PIA Pacific Northwest Service Corporation, and the PIA Western Alliance. At the national level he continues to serve on the PIA National Board, PIA Services, Inc and the PIA Insurance Foundation Board. He has been the PIA Oregon/Idaho Agent of the Year in 1996, 2001 and 2005. |
